.~ <br />~ ~ . <br />Page Two <br />Airshow <br />May 23, 1981+ <br />The La Porte Fire Department will provide on-site fire protection., including <br />a pumper truck. Because the La Porte Area Emergency Ambulance Corps is <br />unable to provide a unit at the airport and still provide adequate service, <br />the airshow sponsors have hired Chuck Curtis Ambulance S~ervic.e out of Pasadena <br />to provide this service. Fire and ambulance service is required on-site by <br />the FAA. <br />Runway 1+/22 (auxiliary runway) will be closed from 10:00 A.M. Saturday until <br />6:00 P.M. Sunday. Runway 12/30 (primary runway) will close 15 minutes before <br />the show starts, and will reopen at 4:00 P.M..on both days. Airshow sponsors <br />will monitor the unicorn frequency to warn transient traffic away while the <br />show is in progress. <br />Additional safety measures, required by the FAA, have been implemented that <br />will insure a safe and enjoyable airshow. Gates will open at 9:00 A.M. for <br />both days; the airshow begins at 1:00.P.M. and ends at 4:00 P.M. <br />Airshow sponsors have dedicated Monday, May 28, 1984 to cleaning up the airport. <br />The City will provide containers to speed up this process. <br />I will be at both performances to insure that all requirements of the City are <br />met, and to provide any additional services required of.Public~Works. <br />If you should have any questions, please advise. <br />SG/lw . <br />cc: Jerry Hodge, Director of Public Works <br />
