Council considered the issuance of industrial revenue bonds <br />to Process Products, Inc. <br />This item was requested by Councilperson Gay, who had asked <br />for tabling at the May 23 meeting so that he could talk with <br />his constituents about it. <br />Councilperson Gay asked that the City Attorney read the reso- <br />lution on the issuance of these bonds if there was no further <br />discussion. <br />Councilperson Matuszak asked if the noise ordinance had been <br />looked at to see what recourse was available if the noise <br />livel gets too high. Mr.. Owen stated he had spoken with the <br />Chief Building Official and the ordinance is very weak in <br />that area. <br />City Attorney Askins stated the proposed new zoning ordinance <br />will be much more sophisticated on the technology of this <br />type, and no existing use would be "grandfathered." <br />• City Attorney Askins read: RESOLUTION 84,5 - A RESOLUTION <br />APPROVING ISSUANCE BY THE CITY OF LA PORTE INDUSTRIAL <br />DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION OF AN ISSUE IN THE AMOUNT OF <br />$500,000 OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT <br />CORPORATION INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT REVENUE BONDS (PROCESS <br />PRODUCTS, INC. PROJECT) SERIES 1984; APPROVING THE RESO- <br />LUTION OF THE ISSUER AUTHORIZING THE BONDS, THE ISSUANCE <br />OF THE BONDS AUTHORIZED THEREBY AND THE PLAN OF FINANCING <br />APPROVED THEREBY AND THE BOND DOCUMENTS; AND APPROVING <br />THE PROJECT TO BE FINANCED WITH THE BONDS. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Skelton to adopt Resolution <br />84-5 as read by the City Attorney. Second by Councilperson <br />Gay. The motion carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Gay, Skelton, Westergren, Malone, Matuszak, <br />Graves, Pfeiffer and Mayor Cline <br />Nays: None <br />7. Council was to consider the request of Eddie Gray to close <br />17th Street between Blocks 1177 and 1178. <br />This item was cancelled at the request of Mr. Gray because all <br />of the paperwork was not completed. It will be~put on the <br />agenda for the June 20 meeting. <br />• 8.
