I <br />r~ <br />• <br />• Minutes, Special Called Meeting, La Porte City Council <br />June 13, 1984, Page 2 <br />The Assistant City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1405-A - AN <br />ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING AND CLOSING THAT PORTION OF <br />SOUTH 12TH STREET LYING BETWEEN BLOCK ONE THOUSAND NINETY- <br />SEVEN (1097) AND BLOCK ONE THOUSAND NINETY-EIGHT (1098) FROM <br />THE SOUTH RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF FAIRMONT PARKWAY TO THE NORTH <br />RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF SOUTH "K" STREET; RETAINING A TEMPORARY <br />PUBLIC UTILITY EASEMENT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN <br />MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by <br />No. 1405-A as read <br />by Councilperson P <br />Councilperson Skelton to <br />eirter. <br />.ant City Attorr <br />motion carried, <br />Ordinance <br />Second <br />ayes, 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Skelton, Westergren, Malone, Longley, <br />Matuszak, Pfeiffer and Mayor Cline <br />Nays: None <br />4. Mayor Cline asked for any other business to come before the <br />Council. <br />Councilperson Matuszak reported on the appearance before the <br />• Port Commission of the committee opposing the ~TXTX operations . <br />With help fnam the Port Commission, they were able to get <br />TXTX ordered to clean up their operations or get out within <br />120 days. Councilperson Matuszak feels that they should be <br />shut down within the next 60 days, hopefully. <br />Mayor Cline announced that Sharon Eisenmenger from the State <br />Historical Oommission will be here June 18 at 6:30 P.M. to <br />present a program on the Texas Sesquicentennial and how La Porte <br />can participate. Although the celebration is in 1986, plans <br />must be made now so that projects can be coordinated. <br />5.
