I <br />~ ~ <br />• Minutes, Regular Meeting, La Porte City Council <br />June 20, 1984, Page 2 <br />Councilperson Matuszak arrived at the Council table at <br />7:05 P.M. <br />5. Council considered approving a taxicab permit for Mrs. Jo Ann <br />Snipes, Cadillac Cab Company. <br />Mrs. Snipes was present and answered questions from Council. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Pfeiffer to approve the <br />taxicab permit for Cadillac Cab Company. Second by Council- <br />person Matuszak. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Gay, Skelton, Westergren, Malone, Longley, <br />Matuszak, Graves, Pfeiffer and Mayor Cline <br />Nays: None <br />6. Council considered approving a contract with Turner Collie & <br />Braden for wastewater system improvements. <br />It was noted by the City Manager that the suggested change <br />• had been made to the wording in the contract, i.e., on page 2, <br />the word "indicate" was changed to "identify." <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Westergren to approve the <br />contract with Turner Collie & Braden for wastewater system <br />improvements. Second by Councilperson .Graves. The motion <br />carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Gay, Skelton, Westergren, Malone, Longley, <br />Matuszak, Graves, Pfeiffer and Mayor Cline <br />Nays: None <br />7. Council considered authorizing going out for bids for restora- <br />tion of Carter Trust property. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Matuszak to tab le~this item <br />until such time as we are apprised whether or not FEMA will <br />subsidize purchase of the property. Second by Councilperson <br />Graves. <br />After lengthy discussion on the pros and cons of whether to buy <br />the property with or without FEMA participation, bid specifi- <br />cations, property value, etc., the vote was taken and the motion <br />was defeated, 8 nays and 1 aye. <br />Ayes: Councilperson Matuszak <br />• Nays: Councilpersons Gay, Skelton, Westergren, Malone, Longley, <br />Graves, Pfeiffer and Mayor Cline <br /> <br />I <br />
