• • • ORDINANCE NO. 1421 AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING, AND CLOSING A PORTION OF THE RIGHT OF WAY OF WEST'"F" STREET, LYING BETWEEN BLOCK 834 AND BLOCK 823,TOWN OF LA FORTE, AND BETWEEN THE WEST RIGHT OF WAY LINE OF SOUTH SEVENTEENTH STREET, AND EAST RIGHT OF WAY LINE OF SOUTH EIGHTEENTH STREET, AND BEING A TRACT OF LAND EIGHTY FEET BY TWO HUNDRED SIXTY SIX FEET ,•. IN THE TOWN OF LA FORTE, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS; FINDIN.~.COMPLIAN•CE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of La Porte has been requested by the record owners of all of the property abutting the hereinafter described portion of West "F" Street, to vacate, abandon, and permanently close said portion of said West "F" Street; and • WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of La Porte has determined, and does hereby find, determine, and declare that the hereinafter described portion of West "F" Street is not suitable, needed, or beneficial to the public as a public road or street, and that the closing of. the hereinafter described portion of said West "F" Street is for the protection of the public and for public interest and benefit, and that the here- inafter described portion of said West "F" Street should be vacated, abandoned, and permanently closed; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA FORTE: Section 1. Under and by virtue of the power granted to the City of La Porte under its Home Rule Charter and Chapter • 13, Title 28, Article 1175 of the Revised Civil Statute of the State of Texas, 1925, the hereinafter described portion of West "F" Street is hereby permanently vacated, abandoned, and closed. That portion of the right of way of West "F" Street, lying and being situated between Block 834 and Block 823, Town of La Porte, Harris County, Texas, and lying and being situated between the West right of way line of South 17th Street, and the East right of way line of South 18th Street, and being a tract of • land 80'x 266' in the Town of La Porte, Harris County, Texas.
