Council considered financial assistance to the La Porte <br />Sesquicentennial Committee. <br />City Manager Owen stated that the City could utilize revenue <br />sharing funds for this project, and that there is a <br />sufficiency of funds in the contingency fund of revenue <br />sharing to appropriate funds for this purpose. <br />Motion was made b~Cou ci person Matuszak to designate $x,000 <br />from the revenue sharing fund as finances ss~sta~ce t4 t~ <br />La Porte Ses uicgntennial Committee. Second by Councilperson <br />Bridges. The motion carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Matuszak, Waters, Pfeiffer, Skelton, <br />Westergren, Malone, Bridges and Mayor Cline <br />Nays: None <br />• <br />5. Council considered approving an agreement with Turner Collie & <br />Braden for design and construction services for sanitary <br />sewer. <br />City Manager Owen reported that this project is a part of the <br />agreement with Fairmont Plaza Joint Venture to relocate a 36" <br />sanitary sewer line that was to be completed within 18 months. <br />Therefore, it is necessary to take this particular item out of <br />sequence in order to meet our 18 month commitment in the <br />contract. The agenda item is concerning the engineering work <br />to do that. <br />Director of Community Development John Joerns refreshed <br />Council's memories on the past happenings on this line and <br />that these engineering services were now necessary because of <br />expanding the 36" line to a 66" line to be in agreement with <br />the Comprehensive Wastewater Plan. <br />After brief discussion, motior~was_made by Cou cilperson <br />s erg~e~_tg approve t e agreement with Tuner Collie <br />Braden for des~gr~ a~rd_construction for sanitary sewer. Second <br />by Councilperson Pfeiffer. The motion carried, 8 ayes and 0 <br />nays. <br />• <br /> <br /> <br />
