Council considered an ordinance updating the City of La Porte <br />Electrical Code. This item had been tabled from the meeting <br />of March 6 by Councilperson Gay. Councilperson Gay indicated <br />that he was ready to place this item for consideration by <br />Council at this time. <br />The City Attorney called attention to a typo on page 2, line <br />a. The word "each" should be stricken from that line. <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1254-B - AN ORDINANCE <br />AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 1254, COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS THE CITY <br />OF LA PORTS ELECTRICAL CODE, OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE <br />CITY OF LA PORTS; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF THE 1984 <br />VERSION OF THE NATIONAL ELECTRIC CODE; ALTERING THE SCHEDULE <br />OF FEES FOR INSPECTION; ALTERING REQUIREMENTS FOR FLEXIBLE <br />CONDUITS; ALTERING REQUIREMENTS FOR SERVICE DISCONNECTIONS; <br />FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAWS; PROVIDING A <br />• SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; PROVIDING THAT ANY PERSON VIOLATING THE <br />TERMS OF THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE GUILTY OF A MISDEMEANOR AND <br />UPON CONVICTION THEREOF SHALL BE.FINED IN ANY SUM NOT MORE <br />THAN $200.00 PER OCCURRENCE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE <br />HEREOF. <br />Motion_wa.s made by~Council,person Westerg~D to~dopt o~ an nce <br />124-B as read ~ the Cit~,Attornev. Council considered an ordinance approving a wine and beer <br />retailers license for "Leaning House of Pasta". <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1000-R - AN ORDINANCE <br />AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 1000 OF THE CITY OF LA PORTS, TEXAS, <br />DESIGNATING THE AREAS WHERE BEER FOR CONSUMPTION ON THE <br />PREMISES MAY BE SOLD AND PROHIBITING THE SALE ELSEWHERE; <br />PROVIDING FOR HOURS OF OPENING AND CLOSING; PROVIDING SALE OF <br />BEER FOR CONSUMPTION OFF PREMISES SHALL NOT BE AFFECTED; <br />• <br /> <br />
