Ray - Purchasing <br />SUBJECT: Sealed Bid ~~0092 - <br />INTER-OFFICE MEMORANDUM <br />APRIL 12, 1985 <br />a1 <br />,tract <br />Advertised, sealed bids ~i0092 were opened and read in City Council Chambers <br />April 8, 1985 at 4 p.m. Bid invitations were mailed to seven area lawn <br />maintenance firms with the following five returning bids; (1) Tom Hootman, <br />(2) Goldston Mowing, (3) Sentell Lawn Maintenance, (4) Steve Echols, and <br />(5) Master's Landscape and Lawn Service. <br />Bidders were required to submit firm pricing for routinely performing contract <br />mowing service for the City of La Porte under the direction of the Code Enforce- <br />ment Division. Pricing was submitted for mowing vacant lots with a brush hog, <br />mowing undivided acreage and mowing residential homesites. <br />Low bid was submitted by Steve Echols of La Porte, Texas in the amount of <br />$8.75 per 25' x 125' lot, $6.75 for each additional contiguous lot, $39.75 <br />per undivided acre, and $15 per residential homesite. <br />These prices are 3~ to 5% less than prices under the current contract. I hereby <br />recommend the City of La Porte award the 1985-86 Contract for Mowing Service to <br />Steve Echols on the basis of low bid meeting specifications. <br />I trust this recommendation will meet with your approval. <br />JR/mb <br />Attachment: Sealed Bid Tabulation ~~0092 <br />cc: J.
