Second by Councilperson L,Iaters. The motion carried, 6 ayes and 0 nays. Ayes: Councilpersons Walker, Matuszak, Waters, Skelton, Westergren and Mayor Malone Nays: None 5. The Mayor presented proclamations for Safety in the Workplace Week and Pause for the Pledge Day. 6. John Paul Zemanek, Executive Director of the La Porte-Bayshore Chamber of Commerce, presented the Mayor with a Resolution from the Chamber supporting the upcoming bond election. • 7. Council considered an ordinance exempting La Porte Independent School District from water and sewer fees. The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1443 - AN ORDINANCE EXEMPTING THE LA PORTS IAIDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT FROM WATER AND SEWER FEES UNDER ORDINANCE N0. 759-E, FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF LOMAX JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. Motion was made ~ Councilperson Westergren to adopt Ordinance 1443 as read by the C~y_A~tornev. Second by Councilperson Matuszak. The motion carried, 6 ayes and 0 nays. Ayes: Councilpersons Walker, Matuszak, Waters, Skelton, Westergren and Mayor Malone Nays: None 8. Council considered adopting the Development Ordinance. Motion was made by Councilperson Matuszak to adopt the Development Ordinance. Second by Councilperson Walker. After discussion of various aspects of the ordinance, Councilperson Skelton amended the motion to read "adopt the Development Ordinances subiect to approval by Council of the Public Improvements Criteria Manual (PICM)".
