Council considered appointing members to Boards and <br />Commissions. <br />Mayor Malone recommended taking this item into executive <br />session, and it was so moved by Councilperson Westergren and <br />seconded by Councilperson Matuszak. <br />12. Council considered a resolution for a reimbursement commitment <br />to Exxon Pipeline airport project. <br />The City Manager explained that this work is required in <br />conjunction with Airport improvements that we are presently <br />taking bids on, and is in conjunction with an FAA grant that <br />we have received for airport improvements. The pipelines need <br />to be lowered in order for roads and taxiways to be built. <br />Exxon wants commitment from Council that they will be <br />• reimbursed for lowering the pipelines. This would be <br />reimbursable from the FAA grant on a 90-10 basis. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Matuszak to approve the <br />resolution for a reimbursement commitment to Exxon Pipeline. <br />Second by Councilperson Skelton. <br />The City Attorney read: RESOLUTION 85-8 - A RESOLUTION <br />APPROVING AN AGREEMENT WITH EXXON PIPELINE COMPANY TO LOWER <br />ITS PIPELINES TO ACCOMMODATE CONSTRUCTION OF THREE TAXI LANES <br />AND ONE ACCESS ROAD AT THE CITY OF LA PORTE MUNICIPAL AIRPORT, <br />AND APPROPRIATING THE NECESSARY FUNDS FOR SUCH PROJECT; AND <br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />The motion carried, 6 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Walker, Matuszak, Waters, Skelton, <br />Westergren and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />13. Council considered awarding a contract for construction of <br />Police and Fire Station parking lots. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Matuszak to award the bid for <br />the construction of Police and Fire Station parking lots to <br />• $51,00 .40. Second by Councilperson Westergren. The motion <br />carried, 6 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br /> <br />
