The proclamation for Reverend <br />Howard Williams was not read because he was not present. <br />Someone called to Mayor Malone's attention that there was <br />a member of Optimist Club present to receive the <br />proclamation for Respect for Law Week. He came up and <br />Mayor Malone presented the Respect for Law Week <br />Proclamation to him. <br />5. Petitions, Remonstrances, Communications, and Citizens and <br />Taxpayers Wishing to Address the Council. <br />Mr. Luther Maxey, a former City employee, came forth and <br />spoke to the Council. (See separate copy of his address) <br />Mrs. Barbara Brechtel was asked to come forth as she had <br />signed the roster. She requested to wait until item 12 on <br />the agenda. <br />Mrs. Judy Cain wanted to come forth and speak. (see <br />attached copy of her address) <br />6. Consider Petition and Staff Recommendation for Water Line <br />Extension Serving Block 759• <br />John Joerns gave a brief explanation of the water line <br />extension serving block 759• (see memo attached for <br />explanation.) <br />Mrs. Ybarra spoke in favor of the water line extension. <br />After several questions by Council, motion was made by <br />Councilperson Westergren to accept the water line <br />extension. Second by Councilperson Skelton. The motion <br />carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays <br />Ayes: Councilpersons, Waters, Lloyd, Matuszak, Porter, <br />Pfeiffer, Gay, Skelton, Westergren, and Mayor <br />Malone <br />Nays: None <br />7. Consider awarding bid for Depository Agreement <br />Mayor Malone and Councilpersons Westergren, Pfeiffer, <br />Matuszak and City Attorney Knox Askins excused themselves <br />
