(4) All fire hydrant placements shall be approved by the La Porte Fire Depaztment . (5) If a required water main and/or hydrant is not a~:ailable, the builder shall install said main or hydrant tinder prevailing rules and regulations of the City of La Porte. (6) The requirements of Subsection (c) of this section shall not be retroactive prior to the effective date of this code revision. (d) All buildings required by the Fire Code or Building Code to have a sprinkler system for fire protection shall have a wet sprinkler system. The design and installation of said system shall be as per N.F.P.A. 13 specifications. A'OTE: In addition to the aforementioned requirements: 1,2,3,4,5 as follows shall also be required. (1) ASSEyBLY OCCUPANCIES (a) All Class A assembly occupancies shall be totally sprinklered. (b) When Class B assembly occupancies are located in a building above the level of exit discharge, the building shall be totally sorinklered. (c) When Class C assembly occupancies are located in a building two (2) stories or more above the level of exit discharge, the building shall be totally sprinklered. • (2) BUSINESS OCCUPANCIES Business occupancies three (3) stories or more in height shall be totally sprinklered. (3) RESIDENTIAL OCCUPANCIES (a) Hotels, motels, dormitories and lodging or rooming houses three (3) stories or more in height with exterior means of egress shall be totally sprinklered. (a-1) Hotels, motels, dormitories or lodging or rooming houses two (2) stories or more in height with interior means of egress shall be totally sprinklered. (b) Apaztsnent buildings three (3) stories or mere in height with exterior means of egress shall be totally sprinklered. (b-1) Apartment buildings two (2) stories or more in height with interior means of egress shall be totally sprinklered. (4) All buildings totally sprinklered shall have an electrically supervised water flow alarm installed as per N.F.P.A. 72 C specifications to tray nit an alarm to the Fire Department dispatch office. (5) All sprinkler systcnts with twenty (20) or more sprinkler heads shall have a Fire Department connection. EKC•EPrtoN In buildings with sprinkler systems that have four (4) sprinkler heads or less, all applicable N.F.P.A. 13 specifications shall be satisfied exc•pt: (1) The water supply may be furnished from the domest.;c water supply line if said water supply is adequate to meet the sprinkler system requirements. (2) The sprinkler system tap on said water supply line shall be made before rate water m.:ter. (?)
