Council considered an ordinance approving a beer and wine <br />retailers permit for Viokers Inn Restaurant. <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1000-V - AN ORDINANCE <br />AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 1000 OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, <br />DESIGNATING THE AREAS WHERE BEER FOR CONSUMPTION ON THE <br />PREMISES MAY BE SOLD AND PROHIBITING THE SALE ELSEWHERE; <br />PROVIDING FOR HOURS OF OPENING AND CLOSING; PROVIDING SALE OF <br />BEER FOR CONSUMPTION OFF PREMISES SHALL NOT BE AFFECTED; <br />DEFINING SOURCE OF AUTHORITY; PROVIDING THAT NO LICENSE SHALL <br />BE ISSUED EXCEPT FOR THE AREAS HEREIN DESIGNATED; DEFINING <br />RESTAURANT; GRANTING A PERMIT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE <br />OPEN MEETINGS LAW, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was made b~ Councilperson Westergren to adopt Ordinance <br />1000-V as read by the City Attornev. Second by Councilperson <br />Gay. The motion carried, 7 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Waters, Lloyd, Porter, Gay, Skelton, <br />Westergren and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />8. Council considered a resolution to stop diversion to other <br />purposes of Texas highway funds. <br />The City Attorney read Resolution 86-25. Motion was made by <br />Councilr~erson Skelton to a~nrove Resolution 86-25 as read by <br />the Citv Attorney. Second by Councilperson Gay. The motion <br />carried, 7 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Waters, Lloyd, Porter, Gay, Skelton, <br />Westergren and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />9. Council considered a resolution urging Texas Congressional <br />delegates to support Texas receiving a fair return of Federal <br />highway user taxes. <br />The City Attorney read Resolution 86-26. Motion was made by <br />Councilperson Gav to approve Resolution 86-26 as read by the <br />City Attornev. Second by Councilperson Westergren. The <br />motion carried, 7 ayes and 0 nays. <br />
