Herrera <br />City Hanager (2rH~ <br /> <br />April 24, 1987 <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />. <br />Revisions to Street & Alley Closing Ordinance <br />and Pending Requests for Street & Alley Closings <br /> <br />The draft ordinance incorporating the changes to the Street & Alley <br />Closing Ordinance requested by Counci I is complete. The RFP for <br />appraisal servic~s is being prepared and should be ready for <br />advertising during the first week in Hay. Consideration of this <br />ordinance is tentatively scheduled for the May 11 Council meeting. <br /> <br />Since the ordinance is designed to be effective the date of passage, <br />I recommend that Council authorize staff to select Hugh Landrum to <br />perform any necessary appraisals which occur prior to the City <br />selecting an appraiser. Mr. Landrum is familiar with La Porte and <br />currently performs the appraisals for the City's Industrial District <br />Contracts and is a licensed fee appraiser. <br /> <br />Also, Counci I need s to be awa re that the re are <br />street and alley closings that need to be resolved. <br />Askins' and my opinion that applications, submitted <br />of the new ordinance, should have the right to <br />allowed under our existing ordinance. <br /> <br />several pending <br />It is both Knox <br />prior to passage <br />claim benefits <br /> <br />Attached is a list of pending street and alley closings and their <br />status. <br /> <br />JJ/tla <br /> <br />Attachment <br />
