<br />~J <br />Minutes, Regular Meeting, La Porte City Council <br />September 28, 1987, Page 4 <br />12. Council considered a resolution supporting proposed <br />improvements to Port of Houston facilities. <br />The City Attorney read: RESOLUTION 87-14 - A RESOLUTION BY <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE SUPPORTING THE <br />PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS TO PORT OF HOUSTON FACILITIES. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Skelton to approve <br />Resolution 87 14 as read by the City Attorney. Second by <br />Councilperson Gay. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Waters, Lloyd, Matuszak, Porter, Shipp, <br />Gay, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />13. Council considered approving a contract for interim financing <br />for the La Porte Area Water Authority to fund engineering and <br />development costs. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Skelton to approv_e_nterim <br />financing for the La Porte Area Water Authority. Second by <br />Councilperson Lloyd. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Waters, Lloyd, Matuszak, Porter, Shipp, <br />Gay, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />14. Council considered approving an engineering services <br />agreement with Espey, Huston for design of La Porte Area <br />Water Authority transmission Lines and related facilities. <br />After a presentation by Director of Public Works Steve <br />Gillett and questions from Council, motion was made by <br />Councilperson Matuszak to modifv the contract to reflect the <br />schedule or aspects of the proposal. Second by Councilperson <br />Shipp. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Waters, Lloyd, Matuszak, Porter, Shipp, <br />Gay, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />15. Council considered approving professional surveying services <br />agreement to prepare description of easement within Coastal <br />Water Authority right-of-way for LPAWA transmission lines. <br />
