~J <br />\J <br />WHAT KINDS OF PROJECTS DOES THE AGENCY FUND? <br />Water and sewer improvements such as sliplining, increasing the size of pipes, <br />installing new lines; <br />Construction of community centers, sidewalks, street and drainage improvements; <br />Park development, beautification, demolition of unsafe structures; <br />Technical assistance (program planning, proposal development, etc.); <br />Small business loans; <br />Public services, such as transportation to and from medical facilities, counseling for <br />juvenile firesetters, funding for the abused family shelter; and <br />Rehabilitation of sub-standard homes (owner's principal residence). <br />ARE THERE SPECIFIC AREAS WHERE THE PROGRAM OPERATES? <br />Communities are targeted for community development block grant activities.
