Minutes, Workshop and Special Called Meeting <br />La Porte City Council <br />February 1, 1988, Page 2 <br />After discussion, motion was made by Councilperson Matuszak <br />to table the ordinance until more statistics can be <br />obtained on the area of Fairmont Parkway that is affected <br />~v the ordinance. Second by Councilperson Lloyd. The <br />motion carried, 6 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Waters, Lloyd, Matuszak, Shipp, <br />Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />4. Council considered a resolution extending the sign <br />moratorium. <br />The City Attorney read: RESOLUTION 88-3 - A RESOLUTION <br />EXTENDING THE MORATORIUM TO EXPIRE MARCH 31, 1988, ON THE <br />ISSUANCE OF BUILDING PERMITS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF <br />PERMANENT SIGNS AND BILLBOARDS IN THE CITY OF LA PORTE, <br />FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND <br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />Mntinn was made by Councilperson Matuszak to approve <br />Resnluti~n 88-~ as read bk,the Citty Attorney. Second by <br />Councilperson Lloyd. The motion carried, 6 ayes and 0 <br />nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Waters, Lloyd, Matuszak, Shipp, <br />Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />5. The called meeting was adjourned and the workshop meeting <br />called to order. <br />6. Lewis McLain presented a review of the utility rate study. <br />7.
