Second by Counci1person Matuszak. The motion <br />carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Ayes: Counci1persons Waters, Matuszak, Porter, Shipp, Gay, <br />Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Pro Tern Lloyd <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />10. Council considered approving SWA professional fee revision <br />regarding Little Cedar Bayou Park. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Counci1person Waters to approve an <br />increase of $17,~OO to the SWA contract and to convert the <br />contract to a fixed fee with reimbursable expenses billed <br />at actual cost. Council considered annexation policy of Bayshore Municipal <br />Utility District. <br /> <br />The City Manager reported that the City of La Porte has <br />received an official request from BayMUD to consider <br />annexing them pending an affirmative vote on May 7, 1988. <br />He also reported that tests on samples taken at the request <br />of BayMUD on the abandoned oxidation ponds show that they <br />have an acceptable criteria of the eight heavy materials <br />sampled. Further testing would be done by the City if the <br />annexation vote is passed, before annexing BayMUD. BayMUD <br />is virtually debt free, and the infrastructure appears to <br />be sound. Staff recommends that we continue to study <br />annexation of BayMUD and that the City Council direct the <br />City Manager to notify BayMUD, in writing, that the City is <br />seriously looking at annexation. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Counci1person Waters to authorize the <br />City Manager to inform the Bayshore Municipal Utility <br />District, in writing, that the City of La Porte is <br />seriously considering the annexation Question and will <br />
