If the need and <br />desire is there to carry the product, it will be added. <br /> <br />He also announced that CSPAN will be added in June, and <br />also American Movie Classics. <br /> <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1175-A - AN ORDINANCE <br />GRANTING THE PRIOR CONSENT OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF LA PORTE, TO THE ASSIGNMENT BY KIP-LEE CATV, INC., DBA <br />LA PORTE CABLE TELEVISION, A TEXAS CORPORATION, OF ITS <br />FRANCHISE AGREEHENT WITH THE CITY OF LA PORTE, AS EXPRESSED <br />IN CITY OF LA PORTE ORDINANCE NO. 1175, PASSED AND APPROVED <br />ON FIRST READING ON NOVEMBER 28, 1979, AND ON FINAL READING <br />ON JANUARY 9, 1980; APPROVING THE ASSIGNMENT OF SUCH <br />FRANCHISE TO PRIME CABLE OF FORT BEND, L.P., A LIMITED <br />PARTNERSHIP WHICH IS AN AFFILIATE OF PRIME CABLE; REQUIRING <br />THE ASSIGNEE TO EXECUTE AND FILE WITH THE CITY SECRETARY OF <br />THE CITY OF LA PORTE ITS ACCEPTANCE OF THE TERMS OF <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1175, AND AGREEING TO COMPLY WITH ALL THE <br />PROVISIONS THEREOF; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN <br />MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Gay to adopt Ordinance <br />1175-A as read by the City Attorney. Second by <br />Councilperson Clarke. The motion carried, 8 ayes and 0 <br />nays. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Lloyd, Matuszak, Porter, Shipp, Gay, <br />Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />9. Council considered approving a resolution authorizing the <br />Police Department to submit a grant request to assist in <br />funding a Crime Suppression Task Force. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Skelton to approve <br />Resolution 88-5, authorizing the Police Department to <br />submit a grant request. Second by Councilperson Matuszak. <br />The motion carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Lloyd, Matuszak, Porter, Shipp, Gay, <br />Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />10. Council considered approving an interlocal agreement with <br />Harris County Development for unsafe building demolition. <br /> <br />Motion was made bv Councilperson Matuszak to approve the <br />interlocal agreement with Harris County Development <br />Agency. Second by Councilperson Porter. The motion <br />carried, 7 ayes, 0 nays, 1 abstain. <br />
