Council considered approving the purchase of used rental <br />vehicles for CID. <br />Motion was made by ~o~r~cil~erson Matuszak to aAprove the <br />purchase of two ~enta7~ vehicles from Avis Rental Sales, in the <br />amount of $17,498. Second by Councilperson Cooper. The <br />motion carried, 7 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Waters, Matuszak, Cooper, Porter, <br />Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />14. Council considered awarding a bid for Police jackets. <br />Motion was made by Councilpe so Waters to award the bid for <br />Police 1ackets to Martinis Uniforms, in the amount ~f, <br />$x.679.55_. Second by Councilperson Matuszak. The motion <br />carried, 7 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Waters, Cooper, Matuszak, Porter, <br />Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />15. Workshop Item: Finance Director Jeff Litchfield reviewed a <br />proposed ordinance amending Chapter 26, Article II, "Water and <br />Sewer Charges," of the City of La Porte Code of Ordinances. <br />After receiving direction from Council, the ordinance will be <br />placed on the January 23 agenda for Council action. <br />16. Administrative Reports: City Manager Bob Herrera reviewed a <br />letter from Guy Sutherland, Chairman of the Airport Advisory <br />Board, regarding positions on the Board and making <br />recommendations on appointees to the Board. A letter signed <br />by 19 airport users, recommending support for Debbie Rihn to <br />be placed on the Airport Advisory Board, was read. <br />Council was reminded of a draft oil and gas drilling ordinance <br />which will probably come before Council for action in March. <br />17. Council Action: Councilpersons Waters, Cooper, Matuszak, <br />Porter, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone brought items to <br />Councilis attention. <br />18. There being no further business to be brought before the <br />Council, the meeting was duly adjourned at 8:16 P.M. <br />
