i • <br />Minutes, Public Hearing and Regular Meeting <br />La Porte City Council <br />February 13, 1989, Page 3 <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Skelton to accept Planning <br />and Zoning and staff recommendation for rezoning and adopt <br />Ordinance 1501-G. Second by Councilperson Gay. <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1501-G - AN ORDINANCE <br />AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 1501, BY CHANGING CLASSIFICATION OF <br />THAT CERTAIN PARCEL OF LAND HEREIN DESCRIBED; AND PROVIDING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />The vote was then taken, and the motion carried, ~4 ayes and 2 <br />nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Shipp, <br />Porter <br />Nays: Councilpersons Waters <br />Gay, Skelton, and Mayor Pro Tem <br />and Cooper <br />8. Council considered an ordinance closing "I" Street. This <br />ordinance had been previously tabled by Councilperson Waters <br />at the Dec. 12, 1988, meeting. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Waters to bring this <br />ordinance back to the table. Second by Councilperson Shipp. <br />Director of Community Development Joel Albright reviewed the <br />alley closing request. <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1628 - AN ORDINANCE <br />VACATING, ABANDONING AND CLOSING A PORTION OF WEST "I" STREET; <br />ABANDONING PUBLIC UTILITY EASEMENTS; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH <br />THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Waters to adopt Ordinance <br />1628 as read by the City Attornev. Second by Councilperson <br />Cooper. The motion carried, 6 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Waters, Cooper, Shipp, Gay, Skelton and <br />Mayor Pro Tem Porter <br />Nays: None <br />9. Council considered an ordinance establishing hazardous waste <br />incinerator siting requirements. <br />
