Na <br />Building Line: See setback line. <br />Building Permit: An instrument in writing signed by t-he building <br />inspector authorizing described construction on a particular lot. Refer <br />to the Southern Building Code Congress International (S.B.C.C.I.) for <br />additional information. <br />Business Frontage: The linear measurement of the side of the building <br />which contains the primary entrance of the building. <br />City: City of La Porte. <br />City Council: The words "City Council" shall mean the City Council of <br />the City of La Porte, Texas. <br />City Attorney: The City Attorney of the City of La Porte, Texas, or his <br />authorized representative. - <br />City Manager: That person holding the office of City Manager under the <br />terms of the La Porte Charter, or his authorized representative. <br />City Secretary: That person holding the office of City Secretary under <br />the terms of the La Porte Charter, or his authorized representative. <br />Clinic: An institution, public or private, or a station for the <br />examination and treatment of patients by an individual or group of <br />doctors, dentists, or other licensed members of a human health care <br />profession. <br />Controlled Access Highway: Any thoroughfare which is a high volume <br />freeway (without signalization on principal lanes) designed for four (4) <br />to eight (8) main lanes and four (4) service lanes with a right-of-way <br />(R.O.W.) capacity that allows two (2) to four (4) additional lanes. <br />Controlled Access Highway Corridor: A corridor extending five hundred <br />feet (5001) to either side of the right-of-way (R.O.W.) of a controlled <br />access highway as designated on the City of La Porte's Land Use Map. <br />jgOTES: The definition of Controlled Access Highway (with some <br />minor rephrasing) was taken from Volume One, Section 1.3 <br />of the City's Comprehensive Plan. <br />Controlled Access Highway Corridors are established on the <br />City's Land Use Map and designated by a cross hatched <br />high -light. State Highway 225 and New State Highway 146 <br />are the only thoroughfares within the City presently <br />designated as Controlled Access Highways. <br />Interim Sign Regulations: Signs located within a <br />Controlled Access Highway Corridors shall be limited to a <br />maximum height of sixty-five feet (65'). <br />
