r ' <br />10 <br />public ways required to be dedicated in calculating density per acre. <br />Streets dedicated, improved and accepted prior to platting or the <br />property shall not be counted. <br />Department: The Community Development Department of the City of La <br />Porte. <br />Developed Site Area: That area which is being developed as per <br />definition by Development Ordinance. <br />Development Ordinance: The City of La Porte Development Ordinance, <br />being Ordinance No. 1444, together with any amendments thereto. <br />Director: That person holding the position of Director of Community <br />Development for the City of La Porte or his designated representative. <br />District: A "district" is a zoning district which is a part of the City <br />wherein regulations of this Ordinance are uniform. <br />Dormitory: A space in a unit where group sleeping accommodations are <br />provided with or without meals for persons not members of the same <br />family group in one room or in a series of closely associated rooms <br />under joint occupancy and single management, as in college dormitories, <br />fraternity houses, military barracks, and ski lodges. <br />Duplex: A "duplex" is a building built for, occupied by, or intended <br />for the occupancy of two (2) families, and containing two (2) dwelling <br />units. <br />Dwelling: A dwelling is a building or portion thereof other than <br />manufactured housing or recreational vehicles, designed and used <br />exclusively for residential occupancy, including one -family dwellings, <br />two-family dwellings, and multiple -family dwellings, but not including <br />hotels, motels or lodging houses. <br />Dwelling, Attached: An "attached dwelling" is one which is joined to <br />another dwelling at one or more sides byparty wall or walls. <br />Dwelling, Detached: A "detached dwelling" is one which is entirely <br />surrounded by open space on the same building lot. <br />Dwelling, Single Family: A residential building, other than <br />manufactured housing or recreational vehicles designed for occupancy for <br />one (1) family only. <br />Dwelling, Multi -Family: A residential building designed for occupancy <br />of three (3) or more families, with the number of families not to exceed <br />the number of dwelling units. <br />Dwelling, Two Fami1 : Refer to Duplex. <br />Dwelling Unit: A single unit providing complete, independent living <br />facilities for one (1) or more person including permanent provisions for <br />living, sleeping, eating, cooking and sanitation. <br />
