C~ <br />Minutes, Public Hearings <br />La Porte City Council <br />April 24, 1989, Page 2 <br />• <br />and Regular Meeting <br />announced a second Town Meeting to be held May 23 at Sylvan <br />Beach Pavilion. All interested citizens are invited to attend <br />and add their input. <br />6. Mayor Pro Tem Porter called the public hearings to order. <br />A. Reauest of Countrywide Partnership, Inc., to rezone 8902 <br />Spencer Highway (Outlot 709 and part of Outlot 708) from <br />Manufactured Housing to General Commercial <br />Director of Community Development Joel Albrecht reviewed <br />the request for Council. He noted that the property in <br />question is the only portion of that area of Spencer <br />Highway that is not zoned General Commercial. Questions <br />by Council were answered by Mr. Albrecht. <br />The Mayor Pro Terri called for public input from anyone <br />wishing to speak in favor of the rezoning. Mr. Robert <br />Murano, representing Countrywide Partnership, spoke in <br />favor of the rezoning. <br />The Mayor Pro Tem called for public input from anyone <br />wising to speak in opposition to the rezoning. No one <br />came forward. <br />The Mayor Pro Tem read the recommendation from the <br />Planning and Zoning Cornrr,issi_on, which was favorable to the <br />rezoning of the property. <br />The Mayor Pro Tem closed public hearing A. <br />B. The Mayor Pro Tem called public hearing B to order, which <br />was the r•ea,uest of Countrywide Partnership, Inc., for a <br />Special Conditional Use permit to allow a storage facility <br />on Outlot 709 and the hest ~t71.8 feet of Outlot 708, La <br />Porte Outlots. <br />Joel Albrecht reviewed the rea,uest for• Gounci.l. <br />Recommendations to the City Council from the Planning and <br />Zoning Commission were: (1) facility should be screened <br />on all four sides in accordance with the provision of <br />Zoning Ordinance Section 6-600A; (2) lighting for the <br />facility shcuJ_d be arranged in accordance with the <br />provisions of Section 6-606B.4; and (3) no repair or <br />
