There was some confusion regarding other policy
and/or procedures that are outside the bounds of a Rate setting
Ordinance. For Councils information a short description of those
concerns are as follow:
CITY OF LA PORTE POLICY
I. Floats allowed in the Little
Cedar Bayou Wave Pool:
Only floats allowed will be
those rented by the City of
La Porte. ~ personal floats
will be allowed except Coast
Guard Approved Types i-2 do 3
Life3ackets.
II. Maximum number of patrons
allowed in the Facility:
III. Leaving and Re-Entering the
Wave Pool Facility:
Slx-hundred (600) people is the
maximum allowed. This figure
was arrived at thru the
consultation with the City's
insurance carrier and the
City's Aquatic Consultants in
developing the Aquatic
Operations Manual.
Staff is re-examining the issue
of leaving and re-entering the
facility. Several methods
(wristbands-hand-stamp) for
appropriate tracking and
identification of patrons
wishing to leave and re-enter
the Wave Pool. One risk the
patrons will be exposed to upon
leaving is the maximum of 600
patrons allowed in the Wave
Pool Area.
i.e. The Maximum is reached
while patron is away - their
re-entry would be dependent on
other leaving.
