Minutes, Special Called Meeting <br />La Porte City Council <br />July 5, 1989, Page 5 <br />This item was deferred until after the executive session was <br />held. <br />15. Council considered approving refund of duplicate property tax <br />payment in the amount of $524.76. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Clarke to approve a refund <br />of $524.76 to Ronald St. Clair. Second by Councilperson <br />Cooper. The motion carried, 7 ayes and 0 nays (Councilperson <br />Matuszak had not yet arrived). <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Waters, Cooper, Shipp, Gay, Skelton, <br />Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />16. Council considered declaring an emergency and authorizing <br />approval of expenditure not to exceed $6,000 for emergency <br />repairs for water well #2. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson ShiDD to declare an emerctenc <br />and authorize approval of expenditure not to exceed $7.000 to <br />Weisinger Water Well, Inc. Second by Councilperson Cooper. <br />The motion carried, 7 ayes and 0 nays (Councilperson Matuszak <br />had not yet arrived). <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Waters, Cooper, Shipp, Gay, Skelton, <br />Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />17. Council considered authorizing the City Manager to sign a <br />letter of agreement between Houston Coca-Cola Bottling Company <br />and the City of La Porte giving Coca-Cola exclusive soft drink <br />rights at Little Cedar Bayou Park wave pool and softball <br />complex. <br />At this time, the Mayor declared the closing of the bids for <br />$4.5 million General Obligation Bonds. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Skelton to authorize the City <br />Manager to sign a letter of agreement with Houston Coca-Cola <br />Bottling Company. Second by Councilperson Cooper. The motion <br />carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Waters, Cooper, Matuszak, Shipp, Gay, <br />Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />
