0 • <br />Minutes, Special Called Meeting <br />La Porte City Council <br />July 5, 1989, Page 7 <br />19. Council considered a consent agenda, as follows: A. Consider <br />awarding a bid for assorted automotive supplies; B. Consider <br />awarding a bid for printing of police forms. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Clarke to approve the consent <br />agenda. Second by Councilperson Skelton. The motion carried, <br />8 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Waters, Cooper, Matuszak, Shipp, Gay, <br />Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />A brief recess was taken in order to sign documents relating <br />to the sale of the bonds. <br />20. Administrative Reports: Assistant City Manager John Joerns <br />reported that there were no agenda items for a meeting <br />scheduled for July 10, and if it was Council's pleasure, the <br />meeting would be cancelled. Council agreed to this <br />suggestion. <br />He also announced that emergency sewer repairs had been done <br />in Fairmont Park on Roseberry Street. <br />21. Council Action: Councilpersons Waters, Cooper, Matuszak, <br />Shipp, Gay, Skelton, and Clarke brought items to Council 's <br />attention. <br />22. Council adjourned into executive session at 7:45 P.M. to <br />discuss the following: A. - Legal - Meet with attorneys) <br />regarding Southern Ionics/Houston Chemical Services, Inc.; B. <br />- Legal - Meet with City Attorney to discuss Janet Stevenson <br />vs. City of La Porte law suit; C. - Personnel - Continue <br />discussion of appointments to various boards and commissions. <br />Council returned to the Council table at 8:33 P.M. <br />Council then addressed Item 7 - Consider ordinance extending <br />corporate limits of the City of La Porte, Texas, to embrace <br />and include territory within a tract of land at the <br />intersection of Fairmont Parkway and Baypark Road. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Waters to table this item <br />until such time that Council informs staff to put it back on <br />the agenda. Second by Councilperson Skelton. The motion <br />carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Waters, Cooper, Matuszak, Shipp, Gay, <br />Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />
