Council considered an ordinance regulating the Main street <br />Fair. <br /> <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1608-A - AN ORDINANCE <br />AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1608, AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE <br />ANNUAL LA PORTE MAIN STREET FAIR; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE <br />OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Counciloerson Skelton to adoot Ordinance <br />1608-A as read by the city Attorney. Second by Councilperson <br />Waters. The motion carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Nays: <br /> <br />Councilpersons Waters, Cooper, Matuszak, McLaughlin, <br />Gay, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />None <br /> <br />Ayes: <br /> <br />15. Council considered awarding a bid for remodeling of the <br />computer room. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Counciloerson Gay to award the bid for <br />remodeling of the comouter room to Hudson Building Systems, <br />Inc., in the amount of $10,682.00. Second by Councilperson <br />Clarke. Council considered approving a proposal for inspection of <br />water storage tanks. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Counciloerson Skelton to aoorove the <br />orooosal of Donald Graessner. P.E., for insoection of city <br />water storaqe tanks. at a cost not to exceed $5,350.00. <br />Second by Councilperson Clarke. Administrative Reports: City Manager Bob Herrera complimented <br />Department Heads on their work on Hurricane Chantal. He will <br />write letters to them for the record. A damage assessment <br />report regarding hurricane damages will be sent to Council in <br />the near future. <br /> <br />Mr. Herrera also announced an audit committee meeting at 5:30 <br />on August 15, with the budget workshop to begin at 6:00 on <br />
