Council considered an ordinance adopting City of La Porte FY <br />1989-90 Budget and addressed item 18, Consider approving Drug <br />Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) project, at the same <br />time. <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1665 - AN ORDINANCE <br />APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE BUDGET FOR THE CITY OF LA PORTE, <br />TEXAS, FOR THE PERIOD OF OCTOBER 1, 1989 THROUGH SEPTEMBER 30, <br />1990; FINDING THAT ALL THINGS REQUISITE AND NECESSARY HAVE <br />BEEN DONE IN PREPARATION AND PRESENTMENT OF SAID BUDGET; <br />FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was.. made by Councilperson Skelton to adopt Ordinance <br />1665 as read by the City Attorney and to approve the Druq <br />Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) project. Second by <br />Councilperson McLaughlin. Council considered an ordinance amending Chapter 26, Article <br />II, "Water, Sewers, and Sewage Disposal" of the Code of <br />Ordinances of the City of La Porte. <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1666 - AN ORDINANCE <br />AMENDING CHAPTER 26, ARTICLE II, "WATER, SEWERS, AND SEWAGE <br />DISPOSAL," OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE; <br />ESTABLISHING A NEW RATE AND FEE STRUCTURE; FINDING COMPLIANCE <br />WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE <br />HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson McLaughlin to adopt Ordinance <br />1666 as read by the City Attorney. Second by Councilperson <br />Cooper.
