Second by Councilperson <br />McLaughlin. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Nays: <br /> <br />Councilpersons Waters, Cooper, Matuszak, McLaughlin, <br />Porter, Gay, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />None <br /> <br />Ayes: <br /> <br />11. Council considered an ordinance amending Chapter 26, Article <br />II, "Water, Sewers and Sewage Disposal," of the Code of <br />Ordinances of the city of La Porte; Establishing a new rate <br />and fee structure. <br /> <br />Finance Director Jeff Litchfield reviewed this ordinance. <br /> <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1671 - AN ORDINANCE <br />AMENDING CHAPTER 26, ARTICLE II, "WATER, SEWERS AND SEWAGE <br />DISPOSAL," OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE; <br />ESTABLISHING A NEW RATE AND FEE STRUCTURE; CONTAINING A <br />SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS <br />LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Waters to adoDt Ordinance <br />1671 as read bY the City Attorney. Second by Councilperson <br />Matuszak. The motion carried, 5 ayes and 4 nays. <br /> <br />Nays: <br /> <br />Councilpersons Waters, Cooper, Matuszak, McLaughlin <br />and Mayor Malone <br />Councilpersons Porter, Gay, Skelton and Clarke <br /> <br />Ayes: <br /> <br />12. Council considered a resolution authorizing acquisition of <br />right-of-way on Elizabeth Lane to Lomax Elementary school. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson McLauqhlin to adoDt the <br />resolution authorizinq acquisition of riqht-of-way on <br />Elizabeth Lane to Lomax Elementary school. Second by <br />Councilperson Cooper. The motion carried, 8 ayes, 0 nays, 1 <br />abstain. <br /> <br />Ayes: councilpersons Cooper, Matuszak, McLaughlin, Porter, <br />Gay, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: councilperson Waters <br /> <br />13. Council considered approving renewal of contract with Hugh L. <br />Landrum & Associates, Inc., for appraisal of industrial <br />plants. <br />
