Council returned to the table at 7:42 P.M. <br /> <br />Councilperson Matuszak.left the Council table at 6:35 P.M. from the <br />executive session and did not return to the Council table. <br /> <br />13. Council addressed two workshop items: <br /> <br />(A) Discuss request for utility service outside city limits. <br /> <br />Assistant City Manager John Joerns reviewed the request <br />of Mr. Eugene Abbott for utility service outside the La <br />Porte city limits in Deer Park and Council's direction <br />to staff at that time. The information provided for the <br />workshop covered buildings owned or developed by Abbott <br />Development and the pending request for service to two <br />new buildings requesting service. <br /> <br />(B) Discuss false alarm ordinance. <br /> <br />Police Chief Charles smith reviewed a proposed false <br />alarm ordinance. After the review and questions from <br />Council, motion was made bv Councilperson Skelton that <br />the ordinance be put on the Mav 21 aqenda for action. <br />Second by Councilperson McLaughlin. The motion carried, <br />6 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Nays: <br /> <br />Councilpersons Cooper, McLaughlin, Porter, Skelton, <br />Clarke and Mayor Pro Tern Waters <br />None <br /> <br />Ayes: <br /> <br />14. Council considered approving a contract for utility service <br />outside city limits. <br /> <br />Motion was made bv Councilperson Porter to table this item <br />until the Mav 21 meeting. Second by Councilperson McLaughlin. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tern Waters gave direction to staff that had been <br />discussed in the executive session: (1) It is Council's <br />intention to reaffirm the desire for 150% to be the basis of <br />restitution for all bills due the city from all the services <br />extended beyond our city limits; (2) Council wished to serve <br />notice that they will look seriously at terminating all <br />services to those businesses outside our city limits within <br />
