Council considered awarding a bid for plastic bags. <br /> <br /> <br />Motion was made by Council person Clarke to award the bid for <br />plastic baqs to Bemis Company, in the amount of $0.447 per <br />pound, total contract amount of $69,403.50. Second by <br />councilperson Sutherland. The motion carried, 8 ayes and 0 <br />nays. <br /> <br />Ayes: <br /> <br />Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Matuszak, Porter, <br />Gay, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />None <br /> <br />Nays: <br /> <br />13. Council considered authorizing purchase of an ambulance <br />through H-GAC. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Skelton to approve the <br />purchase of an ambulance throuqh H-GAC. Second by <br />Councilperson Clarke. The motion carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Ayes: <br /> <br />Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Matuszak, Porter, <br />Gay, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />None <br /> <br />Nays: <br /> <br />14. Administrative Reports: The City Manager addressed the fact <br />that the 100th birthday of the founding of La Porte will be <br />in 1992, and that a committee needs to be appointed to begin <br />planning the celebration. Mr. Herrera also congratulated Guy <br />Sutherland on his election to council, and welcomed him <br />aboard. <br /> <br />15. Council Action: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Matuszak, <br />Porter, Gay, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone brought items <br />to Council's attention. <br /> <br />16. There was no executive session. <br /> <br /> <br />17.
