The meeting was called to order by Mayor Malone at 6:00 P.M. <br />Members of City Council Present: Mayor Norman Malone, <br />Councilpersons Guy Sutherland, Mike Cooper, Bob McLaughlin, <br />Alton Porter, B. Don Skelton, Jerry Clarke <br />Members of City Council Absent: Councilpersons Ed Matuszak <br />and Deotis Gay <br />Members of City Staff Present: City Manager Bob Herrera, City <br />Attorney Knox Askins, City Secretary Cherie Black, Assistant <br />City Manager John Joerns, Assistant to the City Manager Janie <br />Bais, Director of Public Works Steve Gillett, Purchasing <br />Manager/Human Resources Manager Louis Rigby, Director of Parks <br />and Recreation Stan Sherwood, Director of Community <br />Development Joel Albrecht, Police Chief Charles Smith, Police <br />Lt. Bobby Powell, Finance Director Jeff Litchfield, Finance <br />Officer Linda Waugh, Chief Building Inspector/Zoning <br />Administrator Ervin Griffith, Golf Pro Alex Osmond, Golf <br />Course Superintendent Dennis Hlavaty <br />Others Present: Randy Woodard, Cliff Hyde, Larry Tucker, John <br />Black, 30 citizens <br />2. The invocation was given by Councilperson Porter <br />3. Council considered approving the minutes of the called regular <br />meeting of Council held May 21, 1990. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Porter to approve the May 21 <br />minutes as presented. Second by Councilperson Skelton. The <br />motion carried, 7 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, McLaughlin, <br />Porter, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />4. Proclamations for Nell and Talmadge Lunsford Day, Texas <br />Veterans Land Board Awareness Week, and Juneteenth Week were <br />read by the Mayor. <br />5. Mr. Randy Woodard addressed Council to request financing for <br />a summer concert by the Houston Symphony - "Sounds Like Fun". <br />Mr. David Brady and Mr. Bruce Hammack were scheduled to <br />address Council but were unable to attend the meeting. Mr. <br />Mitch Sanders addressed Council regarding traffic enforcement <br />in Fairmont Park, and Mrs. Jodie Seeger addressed Council <br />
