• <br />Minutes, Regular Meeting, La Porte City Council <br />July 9, 1990, Page 4 <br />After discussion, motion was made b~ Councilperson Sutherland <br />to award the annual mowing contract (item E) to Goldston <br />Mowing. Second by Councilperson McLaughlin. After <br />explanation by staff of why the option for another year's <br />contract with Goldston Mowing was not picked up, Councilperson <br />Sutherland withdrew his motion and Councilperson McLaughlin <br />withdrew his second. <br />lUVW 111th L:Vll 1.1 Qt..:V l 1a.cut L' ~ vV L ul L 1"lVO i11M I {..11G ivv w.a. ~.a~.ava <br />Second by Councilperson Matuszak. The motion carried, 8 ayes <br />and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Matuszak, <br />McLaughlin, Porter, Gay, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />11. Administrative Reports: <br />Bob Herrera reported that there will be a workshop meeting on <br />July 16, and the following items will be addressed: update <br />and review of the zoning ordinance; discussion on front foot <br />fees; upcoming facility for new senior citizens' and <br />"wellness" center. He also reminded Council of the Sounds <br />Like Fun concert at Sylvan Beach on July 11. <br />Police Chief Charles Smith presented a report regarding <br />ordinances and legislation dealing with vicious animals. <br />After the presentation, the City Manager recommended that an <br />assignment be given to Chief Smith and the City Attorney to <br />examine the Richardson and San Antonio ordinances to see if <br />we could enhance our existing animal ordinance and bring it <br />back to Council in a workshop session. <br />12. Council Action: <br />Councilpersons Sutherland, Matuszak, McLaughlin, Gay and Mayor <br />Malone brought items to Council's attention. <br />13. There was no executive session. <br />14.
