<br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Minutes, Public Hearing and Regular Meeting <br />La Porte City Council <br />September 24, 1990, Page 6 <br /> <br />Motion was made bv Councilperson Skelton to aDProve the <br />consent agenda as presented. Second by Councilperson <br />Sutherland. The motion carried, 7 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Nays: <br /> <br />councilpersonsSutherland, Cooper, Matuszak, Porter, <br />Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />None <br /> <br />Ayes: <br /> <br />14. Administrative Reports: city Manager Bob Herrera reemphasized <br />that the meeting with the TWC scheduled for September 26 has <br />been moved to October 3. If the October 3 date changes, he <br />will advise Council. Also, he stressed the need for a quorum <br />of Council to attend the called meeting on September 27 to <br />sell bonds. He announced that the bond rating from Standard <br />& Poors is A+ for general obligation bonds and revenue bonds <br />went from BBB to A-. This is the first increase in rating for <br />La Porte from Standard & Poors since 1980. <br /> <br />Councilperson Matuszak at this time moved that item 10. <br />scheduled to be addressed in executive session. be postponed <br />until another meetinq. due to the lateness of the hour. <br />Second by councilperson Skelton. The motion carried, 7 ayes <br />and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Nays: <br /> <br />councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Matuszak, Porter, <br />Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />None <br /> <br />Ayes: <br /> <br />Director of Public Works Steve Gillett reported on the status <br />of the Southeast Purification Plant. The plant has started <br />up and has operated successfully for one week. After testing <br />by LPAWA, evaluation will be made as to whether additional <br />disinfecting is necessary. The control system start-up is <br />scheduled for October 29. Final completion should be by mid- <br />November. <br /> <br />15. Council Action: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Matuszak, <br />Porter, Skelton, Clarke. and Mayor Malone brought items to <br />Council's attention. <br /> <br />16. Executive Session had already been addressed. <br />
