SUMMARY & RECOMMENDATION On July 16, 1990, Council reviewed preliminary layout for the Sr. Citizen's Center and the La Porte Wellness Facility. Council authorized funding on July 23, 1990. for the design and construction. Since that time we have negotiated a professional services contract with Denny, Ray, Wines and Associates, for the design of the facility. The contract features a lump sum cost of $152,000 for basic services. The total estimated value of the professional services contract is as follows: Basic services: $152,000.00 (Lump sum) Additional services: Reimbursable expenses: Total authorization requested: $ 19,000.00 $ 4,000.00 $175,000.00 (estimated) (estimated) (estimated) Cost of constructing the facility and purchase of assorted equipment and furnishings is currently estimated at _._,.__ _,_$2,042,630.00. The preliminary schedule anticipates completion of design phase by.April, 1991 and bid opening in May, 1991.
