<br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Minutes, Public Hearing and Regular Meeting <br />La Porte city council <br />July 22, 1991, Page 4 <br /> <br />The ci ty Attorney summarized items 8 through 19 as follows: <br />ORDINANCE 1766 - AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THE BUILDING LOCATED <br />ON LOTS 21-22, BLOCK 84, TOWN OF LA PORTE, HARRIS COUNTY, <br />TEXAS, TO BE IN FACT A NUISANCE; ORDERING SUCH BUILDING <br />CONDEMNED; FINDING THAT DAN AND RUTH LEWIS IS THE RECORD OWNER <br />OF SAID PROPERTY; ORDERING THE SAID OWNER TO ENTIRELY REMOVE <br />OR TEAR DOWN SUCH BUILDING; ORDERING THE SAID OWNER TO <br />COMMENCE SAID REMOVAL OR DEMOLITION WITHIN TEN (10) DAYS FROM <br />THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS ORDINANCE; ORDERING THE BOARD OF <br />INSPECTION TO PLACE A NOTICE ON SAID BUILDING; ORDERING THE <br />CITY SECRETARY TO FORWARD A COPY OF THIS ORDINANCE TO SAID <br />OWNER; PROVIDING FOR THE REMOVAL OF SAID PREMISES BY THE CITY <br />OF LA PORTE IF NOT REMOVED BY SAID OWNER IN THE MANNER <br />PROVIDED HEREIN; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF; AND <br />FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW. <br /> <br />All the other ordinances have the proper legal descriptions and <br />record owners listed. The City Attorney suggested that a motion <br />be entertained as a consent agenda to adopt items 8 through 19, <br />with the exception of 11 and 17, which have been pulled, and item <br />16, which has been given a completion deadline of October 1 subject <br />to inspection by the Inspection Department. <br /> <br />CouncilDerson Gay so moved. He <br />pointed out minor changes that were made. <br /> <br />ordinance regulating burglary and <br />This item had been tabled in May of <br /> <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1704 - AN ORDINANCE <br />REGULATING BURGLARY AND ROBBERY ALARM SYSTEMS IN THE CITY OF <br />LA PORTE; PROVIDING THAT ANY PERSON VIOLATING THE TERMS OF <br />THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE DEEMED GUILTY OF A MISDEMEANOR AND <br />UPON CONVICTION SHALL BE FINED IN ANY SUM NOT MORE THAN TWO <br />HUNDRED DOLLARS ($200.00); CONTAINING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; <br />FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />The City Attorney also pointed out the two changes on the <br />agenda copy: Section3.1(e), Pre-existing installations; and <br />the second, Section 3.5(c) should be amended to read "Failure <br />
