NO. 91-~ <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE HARRIS <br />COUNTY APPRAISAL DISTRICT INCREASING THE NUMBER OF <br />MEMBERS ON THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF SAID DISTRICT <br />FROM FIVE TO SIY; PROVIDING FOR THE METHOD OF <br />SELECTING SUCH MEMBERS; AND CONTAINING OTHER <br />PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE SUBJECT. <br />X X X 71~ <br />WHEREAS, t}ie current Board of Directors of the Harris <br />County Appraisal District is composed of five (S) members, one <br />of whom is appointed by each of the following: Harris County, <br />the City of Houston, the Houston Independent School Districr_, <br />all cities and towns, other than the City of Houston, <br />participating in the District, and all school districts, other. <br />titan the Houston Independent School District, participating in <br />the District, all as authorized by and provided for in a <br />resolution approved in 1981 by three-fourths of the taxing <br />units then participating in the District and entitled to vote <br />for members of its Board of Directors; and <br />WHEREAS, at the time of the adoption of such resolution in <br />1981, only counties, cities and towns, and school districts <br />were entitled to vote on the appointment of members of the <br />board of directors of an appraisal district; and <br />WHEREAS, in 1989 the Texas Legislature amended Section 5.03 <br />and related provisions of the Property Tax Code to authorize <br />conservation and reclamation districts to participate with <br />counties, cities and towns, and school districts in the <br />appointment of members of the board of directors of appraisal <br />
