• • <br />Minutes, Regular Meeting, La Porte City Council <br />September 9, 1991, Page 3 <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, McLaughlin, <br />Porter, Gay, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />8. Council considered a resolution nominating a member to the <br />Harris County Appraisal District. <br />No nominations were made; therefore the item was not acted <br />upon. <br />9. Council considered appointing a voting delegate and an <br />alternate voting delegate to National League of Cities <br />Congress of Cities. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Sutherland to abboint <br />Councilperson Deotis Gay as voting delegate and Councilperson <br />Jerrv Clarke and alternate voting delegate to the National <br />League of Cities Congress of Cities. Second by Councilperson <br />Skelton. The motion carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, McLaughlin, <br />Porter, Gay, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />10. Council considered awarding a bid for a fire truck. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson McLaughlin to award the bid <br />for a fire truck to Kovatch Mobile Equipment Company in the <br />amount of 5176,653.00, which includes an optional fiberglass <br />tank. Second by Councilperson Cooper. The motion carried, <br />8 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, McLaughlin, <br />Porter, Gay, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: Nays <br />At this time, Council adjourned into executive session at 6:24 P.M. <br />to address the following items: V.A.T.S. Article 6252-17, Section <br />2(E) (Legal) - Meet with Special Council regarding Houston Chemical <br />Services, Inc./Southern Ionics, Inc.; Section 2(G) (Personnel) - <br />Discuss personnel matters and Council appointments; and Section <br />2(R) (Conference) - Receive airport update from City Manager. <br />Council returned to the table at 8:14 P.M., having taken no action <br />on the executive session items. <br />
