Motion was made by Councilperson Thrower to authorize the City Manaaer to purchase property located at 1302 South Broadway. Second by Councilperson Cooper. Motion carried 8 ayes and 0 nays (Councilperson Gay was absent from the Council table). Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, McLaughlin, Porter, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone Nays: None Item D - no action was taken; Item E - no action was taken City Attorney Knox Askins was away from the council table. Councilperson Skelton asked that Council bring item 12 back to the Council table and amend the ordinance to read - ORDINANCE 1784 - AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THAT IT SHALL BE UNLAWFUL FOR ANY PERSON TO TRAP, HUNT, SHOOT OR ATTEMPT TO SHOOT OR MOLEST IN ANY MANNER, ANY dAME ANIMAL; PROVIDING THAT ANY PERSON VIOLATING THE TERMS OF THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE DEEMED GUILTY OF A MISDEMEANOR AND UPON CONVICTION SHALL BE FINED IN A SUM NOT TO EXCEED TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS ($200.00); PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. Councilperson Skelton also stated an addition to Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any person to trap, hunt, shoot or attempt to shoot or molest in any manner, any QAME animal, AS DEFINED BY TEBAS PARRS & WILDLIFE. Motion was made by Councilperson Skelton to pass Ordinance 1784 as amended. Second by Councilperson Porter. The motion carried, 8 ayes, 0 nays. Councilperson Gay was away from the Council table. Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, McLaughlin, Porter, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone. Nays: None
