The meeting was called to order by Mayor Malone at 6:00 P.M. <br /> <br />Members of City Council Present: Mayor Norman Malone, <br />councilpersons Guy Sutherland, Bob Thrower, Alton Porter, <br />Deotis Gay, B. Don Skelton, Jerry Clarke <br /> <br />Members of city Council Absent: councilpersons Mike Cooper <br />and Bob McLaughlin . <br /> <br />Members of ci tv Staff Present: ci ty Manager Bob Herrera, ci ty <br />Attorney Knox Askins, City Secretary Cherie Black, Assistant <br />City Manager John Joerns, Police Chief Bobby Powell, Fire <br />Chief Joe Sease, Director of Public Works Steve Gillett, <br />Assistant to the ci ty Secretary Sue Lenes, Chief Building <br />Inspector Ervin Griffith, Golf Course Manager/Pro Alex Osmond, <br />Golf Course superintendent Dennis Hvalaty <br /> <br />Others Present: Boy Scout Leaders Marcy Zuckero and Kim Kamp; <br />Boy Scouts Ernie Kamp, Eric Zuckero, Corey C. Hinds and Kevin <br />Pool; Golf Course employee Richard Flores; W. J. Huber; Joyce <br />Sease; 13 citizens <br /> <br />2. The invocation was given by Councilperson Thrower. <br /> <br />The Mayor recognized Boy Scouts and their Leaders who were in <br />the audience, and welcomed them to the meeting. <br /> <br />3. Council considered approving the minutes of the regular <br />meeting and public hearing of Council held September 23, 1991. <br /> <br />Motion was made bv CouncilDerson Skelton to aDprove the <br />September 23 minutes as Dresented. Second by Councilperson <br />Clarke. The motion carried, 7 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Nays: <br /> <br />Councilpersons Sutherland, Thrower, Porter, Gay, <br />Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />None <br /> <br />Ayes: <br /> <br />4. Mayor Malone proclaimed Red Ribbon Week, Retired Senior <br />Volunteer Program Recognition Day and Texas Pharmacy Week. <br /> <br />w' <br /> <br />5. Charlie Young addressed Council regarding item 11 on the <br />agenda, stating that a warehouse would be unsightly along <br />Highway 146, as eventually this would be part of the outer <br />belt. <br /> <br />6. Council considered an ordinance authorizing award of a <br />telephone system contract. <br />
