<br />. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Minutes, Regular Meeting, La Porte City Council <br />October 14, 1991, Page 4 <br /> <br />The city Attorney read: RESOLUTION 91-13 - A RESOLUTION <br />AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF LA PORTE TO BORROW THE SUM OF SIXTY- <br />FIVE THOUSAND ($65,000.00), TO BE EVIDENCED BY A TAX <br />ANTICIPATION NOTE, PAYABLE OUT OF CURRENT TAXES COLLECTED <br />DURING THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 1991, AND ENDING <br />SEPTEMBER 30, 1992; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS <br />LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made bY Councilperson Gay to approve Resolution 91- <br />13 as read bY the city Attorney. Second by Councilperson <br />Thrower. The motion carried, 7 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Nays: <br /> <br />Councilpersons Sutherland, Thrower, Porter, Gay, <br />Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />None <br /> <br />Ayes: <br /> <br />11. Council considered an ordinance disannexing certain territory <br />heretofore annexed to the City of La Porte. <br /> <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1788 - AN ORDINANCE <br />DISANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY HERETOFORE ANNEXED TO THE CITY <br />OF LA PORTE; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; FINDING COMPLIANCE <br />WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE <br />HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Porter to adopt Ordinance <br />1788 as read bY the city Attorney. Second by Councilperson <br />Thrower. The motion carried, 7 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Nays: <br /> <br />Councilpersons Sutherland, Thrower, Porter, Gay, <br />Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />None <br /> <br />Ayes: <br /> <br />12. council considered an ordinance designating certain land now <br />in the corporate limits of the City of La Porte, Texas, as an <br />industrial district to be know as "South La Porte Industrial <br />District"; reserving and preserving all rights, powers and <br />duties otherwise reposing by law in the City Council of the <br />City of La Porte. <br /> <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1789 - AN ORDINANCE <br />DESIGNATING CERTAIN LAND NOW IN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE <br />CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, AS AN INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT TO BE KNOWN <br />AS "SOUTH LA PORTE INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT"; RESERVING AND <br />PRESERVING ALL RIGHTS POWERS AND DUTIES OTHERWISE REPOSING BY <br />LAW IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE; PROVIDING A <br />SAVINGS CLAUSE; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; <br />AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />
