Herrera, City Manager ~..,~ <br />SUBJECT: Lease for 5.4 Acres of Land - Sylvan Beach <br />I'm sorry for this surprise! In my communication with the County, I was <br />repeatedly quoted the fee range of 64,000 - X4,500 needed to move <br />forward on the hotel project. On Friday afternoon I learned the fee <br />changed to X8,600. This amount will cover two appraisals and one <br />survey. I still believe, in the long range, this opportunity is good <br />for the City of La Porte. <br />Survey to be awarded to: Billy Foster & Associates X4,600 <br />Two Appraisals: William Kuinta & Associates X2,000 <br />Tom Edmonds & Associates X2,000 <br />In talking to Louie Ditta, Administrative Assistant to Commissioner <br />Fonteno, I learned that the County has a policy to secure two appraisals <br />when they consider the sale of property. This policy allows the County <br />to compare the value of the property as appraised and allows them to <br />take the average of the appraisals to establish a sales price or lease <br />terms. <br />I have scheduled a meeting with Mr. Ditta on November 12, 1991, to track <br />and learn about the progress of this project. <br />RTH/ms <br />Attachment <br />xc: Louie Ditta <br />
