Council considered approving payment of invoice from Texas, <br />Water Commission and approve transfer from utility Fund <br />Contingency Fund to so do. <br /> <br />Motion was made by CouncilDerson Skelton to aDDrove Davment of <br />invoice to TWC and aDDrove transfer of $7.316.00 from the <br />utility Fund Contingency Fund to do so. Second by <br />Councilperson Clarke. The motion carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Nays: <br /> <br />Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, <br />McLaughlin, Gay, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />None <br /> <br />Ayes: <br /> <br />18. Council considered a consent agenda, as follows: (A) Consider <br />approving replacement of pick up truck; (B) Consider awarding <br />bid for office furniture for City Hall front lobby; (C) <br />Consider awarding bid for chemicals and fertilizer; (D) <br />Consider awarding bid for batteries; (E) Consider awarding bid <br />for hot mix-Mod D; (F) Consider awarding bid for janitorial <br />services; (G) Consider awarding bid for water and sewer <br />supplies. <br /> <br />Motion was made bv councilt)erson Thrower to aDDrove the <br />consent aaenda as Dresented. Second by Councilperson Gay. <br />The motion carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Nays: <br /> <br />Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, <br />McLaughlin, Gay, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />None <br /> <br />Ayes: <br /> <br />19 . Administrative reports: Stan Sherwood addressed Council <br />retarding Shell oil Company's SERVE program. This group of <br />volunteers from Shell plan to repair and/or paint 13 homes in <br />La Porte belonging to La Porte's elderly. Some 200 volunteers <br />will be utilized to complete the repairs, which will take <br />place March 28 and April 4. The Senior citizens' Center will <br />serve as coordination and food site. Many local organizations <br />and individual citizens have donated manpower, money and/or <br />food for the volunteers. H. B. Zachry Company will do roof <br />repairs on four of the homes. This is certainly a worthwhile <br />program, and La Porte is very appreciative of these efforts on <br />behalf of its elderly residents. <br /> <br />20. Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, McLaughlin, Gay, <br />Skelton and Clarke brought items to Council's attention. <br />
