Motion was made by CouncilDerson Skelton to aDDrove Davment of invoice to TWC and aDDrove transfer of $7.316.00 from the utility Fund Contingency Fund to do so. Second by Councilperson Clarke. The motion carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays. Nays: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, McLaughlin, Gay, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone None Ayes: 18. Council considered a consent agenda, as follows: (A) Consider approving replacement of pick up truck; (B) Consider awarding bid for office furniture for City Hall front lobby; (C) Consider awarding bid for chemicals and fertilizer; (D) Consider awarding bid for batteries; (E) Consider awarding bid for hot mix-Mod D; (F) Consider awarding bid for janitorial services; (G) Consider awarding bid for water and sewer supplies. Motion was made bv councilt)erson Thrower to aDDrove the consent aaenda as Dresented. Second by Councilperson Gay. The motion carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays. Nays: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, McLaughlin, Gay, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone None Ayes: 19 . Administrative reports: Stan Sherwood addressed Council retarding Shell oil Company's SERVE program. This group of volunteers from Shell plan to repair and/or paint 13 homes in La Porte belonging to La Porte's elderly. Some 200 volunteers will be utilized to complete the repairs, which will take place March 28 and April 4. The Senior citizens' Center will serve as coordination and food site. Many local organizations and individual citizens have donated manpower, money and/or food for the volunteers. H. B. Zachry Company will do roof repairs on four of the homes. This is certainly a worthwhile program, and La Porte is very appreciative of these efforts on behalf of its elderly residents. 20. Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, McLaughlin, Gay, Skelton and Clarke brought items to Council's attention.
