• • <br />Minutes, Regular Meeting, La Porte City Council <br />June 22, 1992, Page 2 <br />The Assistant City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1847 - AN <br />ORDINANCE APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE <br />CITY OF LA PORTE AND CLAUNCH & MILLER, INC., FOR PROFESSIONAL <br />ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR THE FARRINGTON WATERLINE REPLACEMENT <br />PROJECT; APPROPRIATING NOT TO EXCEED $300,000.00 TO FUND SAID <br />CONTRACT; MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATING TO <br />THE SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; <br />AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Clarke to adopt Ordinance <br />1847 as read by the Assistant City Attorney. Second by <br />Councilperson Thrower. The motion carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Cooper, Thrower, McLaughlin, Porter, <br />Gay, Maxwell, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />At this time, item 5 was addressed, and Centennial Certificates of <br />Appreciation were presented to Jim Longnecker, Pauline Staner and <br />Irene Hardy. <br />9. Council considered approving the Airport Master Plan. <br />Jim Coffman of Coffman Associates, who prepared the Plan, gave <br />a brief presentation of highlights of the plan. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson McLaughlin to approve the <br />Airport Master Plan. Second by Councilperson Thrower. The <br />motion carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays.. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Cooper, Thrower, McLaughlin, Porter, <br />Gay, Maxwell, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />10. Council considered a consent agenda, as follows: (A) Consider <br />awarding a bid for bank sand; (B) Consider awarding a bid for <br />cement stabilized sand; (C) Consider awarding a bid for <br />concrete. <br />Councilperson Gay requested that item C be removed from <br />discussion. After his questions had been answered, motion was <br />made_ by Councilperson Gav to approve the consent agenda. <br />Second by Councilperson Thrower. The motion carried, 8 ayes <br />and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Cooper, Thrower, McLaughlin, Porter, <br />Gay, Maxwell, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />11.
