(They are as <br />follows: Position 2, Al Fields; Position 3, Rodney <br />Etchberger; Position 4, Jerry Bramlett.) <br />The motion was voted, and carried, 7 ayes, 0 nays, 1 abstain. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, <br />McLaughlin, Maxwell, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: Councilperson Porter <br />7. Council considered an ordinance authorizing and approving a <br />contract for construction of Lomax raw sewage force main <br />diversion. <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1855 - AN ORDINANCE <br />APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LA <br />PORTE AND McKEY CONSTRUCTION & EQUIPMENT, INC., FOR THE LOMAX <br />RAW SEWAGE FORCE MAIN DIVERSION; APPROPRIATING $42,291.00 TO <br />FUND SAID CONTRACT; MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS <br />RELATING TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN <br />MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Sutherland to adovt Ordinance <br />1855 as read by the City Attornev. Second by Councilperson <br />Thrower. Council considered an ordinance authorizing and approving a <br />contract for reconstruction of Hillridge bridge. <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1856 - AN ORDINANCE <br />APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LA <br />PORTE AND NUNN CONSTRUCTORS, INC., FOR THE HILLRIDGE ROAD <br />BRIDGE REHABILITATION; APPROPRIATING $62,700.00 TO FUND SAID <br />CONTRACT; MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATING TO <br />THE SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; <br />AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Thrower to adopt Ordinance <br />1856 as read by the City Attornev. Second by Councilperson <br />Porter. The motion carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br />
