The Mayor proclaimed the week of October 25-31, 1992, Pharmacy <br />Week; proclaimed October 31, 1992 as Main Street Fair Day; <br />proclaimed October 26-30, 1992 as Orange & White Bulldog <br />Spirit Week and also recognized by proclamation Red Ribbon <br />Week. <br /> <br />5. Centennial Certif icates of Appreciation were presented to <br />Charlcya Wheeler, Jeanne Zemanek and Charles Witt for their <br />contributions to the community. <br /> <br />6. There were no citizens wishing to address Council. <br /> <br />7. Council considered ordinance approving and authorizing a non- <br />exclusive agreement between the City of La Porte and <br />Wel ton/ Solar Systems to furnish personal computer systems, <br />components,and operating system software. <br /> <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1871 AN ORDINANCE <br />APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LA <br />PORTE AND WELTON/SOLAR SYSTEMS, INC., FOR PERSONAL COMPUTERS <br />AND COMPONENTS; APPROPRIATING $12,451.00 TO FUND SAID <br />CONTRACT; MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATING TO <br />THE SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; <br />AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made bY Councilperson Gay to adoDt Ordinance 1871 <br />as read by the city Attorney. with a continaency aareement in <br />the event Welton/Solar is unable to Derform. we would <br />negotiate with Diskettes Etc. Second by Councilperson <br />Sutherland.
