Council considered a resolution establishing policy for sewer <br />connections for structures which were in existence on January <br />1, 1990 or for which a building permit was issued prior to <br />November 13, 1990. <br /> <br />The city Attorney read: RESOLUTION NO. 92-08 - A RESOLUTION <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE ESTABLISHING A <br />POLICY FOR SEWER CONNECTIONS FOR STRUCTURES WHICH WERE IN <br />EXISTENCE ON JANUARY 1, 1990 OR FOR WHICH A BUILDING PERMIT <br />WAS ISSUED PRIOR TO NOVEMBER 13, 1990; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH <br />THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made by CouncilDerson Maxwell to adoDt Resolution <br />92-08 as read by the city Attorney. Second by Councilperson <br />Thrower. The motion carried, 8 ayes and 1 nay. <br /> <br />Nays: <br /> <br />Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, <br />McLaughlin, Gay, Maxwell, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Councilperson Porter <br /> <br />Ayes: <br /> <br />11. Council considered approving expenditure not to exceed $7900 <br />to Municipal Code Corporation for Supplement/Reproduction of <br />City's Code of Ordinances. <br /> <br />Motion was made j:)y CouncilDerson McLauahlin to table this <br />item. The motion died for lack of a second. <br /> <br />Motion was made bY CouncilDerson Cooper to <br />expenditure not to exceed $7900 to MuniciDal Code <br />for SUDDlement/ReDroduction of City's Code of <br />Second by Councilperson Gay. <br /> <br />Motion was made by CouncilDerson Porter to table this item. <br />Second by Councilperson MCLaughlin. The motion to table <br />failed, 2 ayes and 7 nays. <br /> <br />at>'Prove an <br />Corporation <br />Ordinances. <br /> <br />Ayes: <br />Nays: <br /> <br />Councilpersons Porter and MCLaughlin <br />Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, Gay, <br />Maxwell, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br /> <br />Council then voted on the oriainal motion made bY <br />CouncilDerson Cooper to aDDrove an eXDenditure not to exceed <br />$7900 to Municit>al Code CorDoration for <br />SUDDlement/ReDroduction of City's Code of Ordinances. Second <br />by Councilperson Gay. The motion failed, 4 ayes and 5 nays. <br />
