Council considered ordinances granting permits under Section <br />18-A-3 of Ordinance No. 915, "Pipeline Transportation", to Air <br />Products Manufacturing Corporation. <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCES 915-HH, 915-II, AND 915-11 <br />- AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A PERMIT UNDER SECTION 18-a-3 OF <br />ORDINANCE NO. 915, "PIPELINE TRANSPORTATION," BEING CHAPTER <br />18-A OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, <br />DATED NOVEMBER 25, 1975, TO CONSTRUCT A 10-INCH PIPE LINE FOR <br />THE TRANSPORTATION OF OXYGEN; A 10-INCH PIPE LINE FOR THE <br />TRANSPORTATION OF HYDROGEN; A 10-INCH PIPE LINE FOR THE <br />TRANSPORTATION OF NITROGEN; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE <br />HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Clarke to adopt Ordinances <br />915-HH, 915-II, and 915-JJ as read by the City Attorney. <br />Second by Councilperson Thrower. The motion carried, 8 ayes <br />and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, Porter, <br />Gay, Maxwell, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />8. Council considered an ordinance amending Ordinance No. 1000 of <br />the City of La Porte, Texas, designating areas where beer for <br />consumption on premises may be sold and prohibiting the sale <br />elsewhere (for Royal China Restaurant). <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1000-DD - AN ORDINANCE <br />AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1000 OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, <br />DESIGNATING THE AREAS WHERE BEER FOR CONSUMPTION ON PREMISES <br />MAY BE SOLD AND PROHIBITING THE SALE ELSEWHERE; PROVIDING FOR <br />HOURS OF OPENING AND CLOSING; DEFINING SOURCE OF AUTHORITY; <br />PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; PROVIDING THAT NO LICENSE SHALL BE <br />ISSUED EXCEPT FOR THE AREAS HEREIN DESIGNATED; FINDING <br />COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; PROVIDING A <br />SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Thrower to adopt Ordinance <br />1000-DD as read by the City Attorney. Second by Councilperson <br />Cooper.
