The City Secretary has contacted all franchised utility companies <br />and City departments requesting review and comment. All comments have been <br />received and there were no objections to the proposed closing, The adjacent property <br />owners have submitted their letters of consent and hold harmless statements, <br /> <br />The Harris County Appraisal District appraised value of the property is $.25 per square <br />foot. The total fair market value determined for this closing is $9,000 which per the <br />ordinance, is derived in the follo~ing manner. . <br /> <br />· 24,000 sq. ft. X $.25 per sq, ft. X 1.5 = $9,000 <br /> <br />The ordinance closing, vacating and abandoning the street has been prepared and the <br />applicant has been notified of the following provisions which need to be met prior to <br />delivering a certified copy of the ordinance. <br /> <br />· Applicant must furnish to the City a hold harmless letter by an official of <br />Anthony Crane Rental of Texas, Inc. <br /> <br />· Evidenc,e of title from adjacent owners which have given consent to the <br />closure. <br /> <br />· Evidence of title from Anthony Crane Rental of Texas, Inc, showing <br />ownership of Lots 17 through 32, Block 654, Town of La Porte, <br /> <br />· A cashiers check tor $9,000.00 payable to the City of La Porte, <br /> <br />Action Required by Council: <br /> <br />Staff recommends the closing, vacating and abandoning of the North 17th Street <br />right-ot-way between Blocks 653 and 654, Town of La Porte by passing Ordinance <br />1812.
